Paul has missed the cut at the North East Pennsylvania Classic after an agonising double bogey late in his round cost him any chance of forcing his way into the weekend at the event just outside of Scranton in Pennsylvania.
Paul again started the week slowly with an opening 72 which, on a golf course yielding low scores, left him a lot of work to do in round two. A double bogey at his final hole on Thursday made things even more difficult but today he was working his way back into the event before the double bogey at his 16th hole. His round of 70 left him three shots ouside of the required mark.
With the Nationwide Tour taking a one week break this coming week, Paul will have the opportunity to work further on the swing changes he implemented two weeks ago. Hopefully, by the time he returns to the Utah Championship in Sandy in Utah on September 5th, he might have his game in the right shape to make some progress over the closing stages of the Nationwide Tour season.

After making some rather drastic swing changes in the last couple of weeks, Paul is in Moscow, just outside Scranton in Pennsylvania, for this week's North East Pennsylvania Classic hoping that the improvement he showed in round two of last week's Xerox Classic might flow over into this week.
The tournament is being played at a new venue this week after eight years at the Glenamaura Golf Club in nearby Moosic also in Scranton. The Donald Ross designed Elmhurst Golf Club is the venue and although a short golf course it is full of the normal Ross qualities.
Paul needs a big finish in the remaining eight events of this season if he is to have any chance of gaining PGA Tour status via the top 25.
Pau's second round of 70 at the Irondequoit Golf Club last week gave him some confidence that the changes he has made might just make a differecne to what has been a very ordianry year.
Paul has a 12.35 tee time on day one.
